Why Join This Study?

We’re inviting parents of infants aged 0 to 4 months because we believe every parent’s experience is valuable in understanding infant-parent everyday dynamics. You're eligible to participate If you:

• spend at least 50% of your day with your baby,

• can communicate in English and complete surveys, and

• own a smartphone. 

Expecting parents are welcome to join! Simply complete the sign-up form, and we'll guide you through the process as soon as your baby arrives.

What's the Study About?

Together We Grow aims to explore how your daily interactions with your baby can impact both your baby’s and your own health and wellbeing. Funded by the NIH (National Institutes of Health), this research aims to uncover insights that can shape parenting strategies and infant enrichment practices.

This study is conducted entirely on your smartphone, so there's no need to visit a lab–you can participate conveniently from home!

How Long is the Study?

The study will last for 8 months, during which you’ll engage in daily surveys, occasional longer surveys, and receive enriching materials to enjoy with your baby.

What Will I Do?

Your participation will involve two simple and meaningful activities:

• Daily Smartphone Surveys: Spend just 2 minutes a day answering brief questions about you and your baby’s mood, behavior, and activities. In addition, you’ll complete three longer surveys during the study, each taking about 10 minutes to complete.

• Weekly Infant-Parent Online Materials: During certain periods of the study, you'll receive weekly online materials designed to support you and your baby’s daily routines. These resources are simple to use and can be easily integrated into your time with your baby.

Will I Be Paid for Participation?

You'll receive a total of $75 in e-gift cards, which can be redeemed at a retailer of your choice. Additionally, you'll receive enrichment resources to enjoy with your baby. Please note that if you withdraw from the study before completing it, you will not be eligible for any remaining incentives. 

Are There Any Risks or Privacy Concerns?

This study poses no risks to your health or your baby’s, though answering questions about mood and behavior may occasionally bring mild fatigue or emotional reactions.

Your privacy and data security are our top priorities. All information will be kept confidential, securely stored, and de-identified in reports or shared research. Only authorized researchers and oversight representatives will access identifiable data, and it'll be securely destroyed after the study concludes.
